Christopher Peter Meloni was an American actor who is known for playing in the popular television show Law & Order Special Victims Unit'. Since his college days Meloni had a keen interest in acting. After that, he attended The University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he's been in films as well as on TV but it's the characters portrayed on small screens that have given him popularity. He has been able to easily play characters who are from both sides of law, and captivate the viewers' interest. He was the character of the serial killer on the first TV show he appeared in as well as later portrayed an NYPD detective. Because of his portrayal in the small screen, he's been up for nomination numerous times for the prestigious Emmy Awards. The actor is famous for his blue piercing eyes, which have turned into a signature and helped create a charismatic character for tough roles. He was listed on People's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
